Is AI a Fit for My Industry?
AI doesn't care what industry you're in. It cares whether the work is repetitive, knowledge-dependent, or response-time sensitive. Here's how to tell if you qualify.
We don't sell "AI for e-commerce" or "AI for professional services" as separate products. We sell the same six categories of workflow to every industry — the only thing that changes is which ones apply most to you.
The real question isn't "what industry am I in"
It's whether your business has any of these four patterns:
- Repetitive admin that eats hours every week.
- Customer questions that get answered the same way, over and over.
- Knowledge that lives in one person's head, an inbox, or a buried document.
- Reports or summaries that get pulled together by hand on a schedule.
If you have even one of these, AI has somewhere useful to go — regardless of your sector.
The six categories, and who they tend to fit
| Category | What it includes | Typically fits |
|---|---|---|
| Sales & Lead Handling | Lead qualification, call prep, follow-up drafting, CRM summaries, opportunity prioritisation | Any business with an active sales pipeline — B2B services, agencies, brokers, distributors |
| Customer Support | Support assistants, faster email/chat responses, ticket triage, internal knowledge bases | E-commerce, SaaS, service businesses with recurring customer questions |
| Operations & Admin | Repetitive task automation, internal request handling, document processing, data extraction | Logistics, professional services, anyone drowning in paperwork or manual handoffs |
| Reporting & Management | Automated summaries, AI-assisted analysis, weekly briefings, trend identification | Multi-location or multi-team businesses where leadership needs visibility without chasing it |
| Internal Knowledge | Searchable knowledge hubs, policy assistants, onboarding helpers | Businesses with SOPs nobody reads, or high staff turnover |
| Marketing & Content Operations | Campaign planning, content workflows, brief creation, repurposing, email drafting | Content-heavy or marketing-led businesses |
Industries we get asked about most
- Professional services & consultancies — usually Sales & Lead Handling plus Internal Knowledge.
- E-commerce & retail — usually Customer Support plus Reporting & Management.
- Financial services & brokerages — usually Operations & Admin plus Internal Knowledge, with extra attention on data handling (see our data readiness guide).
- Agencies & marketing teams — usually Marketing & Content Operations plus Reporting & Management.
- Startups scaling fast — usually all six, prioritised by whatever is breaking first as the team grows.
This isn't an exhaustive list. If your industry isn't named above, it doesn't mean AI isn't a fit — it means we haven't written your specific page yet. The pattern-matching above still applies.
When AI genuinely isn't the answer
- The work in question already happens once a month or less — automating something rare rarely pays for itself.
- The decision requires judgement, relationships, or accountability that shouldn't sit with a tool.
- There's no one internally who can own adoption once it's built. AI that nobody uses isn't a deployment, it's an abandoned experiment.
Not sure which category fits your business?
We'll tell you honestly if there isn't a strong use case yet — that's a five-minute conversation, not a sales process.
